Something Thoughtful Is Coming

I never imagined I’d start a company. For years I worked job after job, searching for something that would feel meaningful, but nothing ever did. I think deep down I was waiting for the thing that would truly make a difference. I also never really fit in at any of the jobs I worked. No matter how hard I tried, I always felt like my soul was searching for something more, like an itch I couldn’t scratch. I was tired of helping build everyone else’s dream while mine sat quietly in the background.
Then motherhood changed everything.
I was a new mom of three, completely exhausted, running on almost no sleep, and trying to make it through the day. Out of pure necessity, I made something for my youngest that made life just a little bit easier. It wasn’t meant to be a business. I just needed something that worked.
My dad saw what I made and encouraged me to meet with a patent lawyer. That moment changed the entire direction of my life.
My mom is an incredible sewer, and together we made every early prototype right there in her sewing room. We spent late nights adjusting seams, reworking ideas, and turning my rough sketches into something real. Those quiet hours built the foundation of August & Ivy®, created with love, purpose, and an endless amount of trial and error.
This brand would also not exist without my husband. He’s the steady force who kept our home running and cared for our kids while I chased this dream. His support is the reason I could keep going, even when it all felt impossible. August & Ivy® has always been a family effort in every sense.
Anyone who knows me personally knows that I have this pull to help people. It’s just how I’m wired. I want to make life easier and better for others, and now I finally get to do that in a way that feels real and lasting.
What started as one small solution for my own baby has grown into something so much bigger, a way to help parents feel more rested, more free, and more confident in their day-to-day lives. I know what it feels like to be stuck at home, too tired to go anywhere, and unsure how to make it all work. That season of my life was lonely, and I never want another parent to feel that way.
Everything we’re creating at August & Ivy® is meant to help you move through your day with more ease and peace. Each design is intentional, made from safe, sustainable materials, and built to support real life.
The name August & Ivy® holds a very personal meaning for our family. It’s a reminder of where this began and who we do it for.
If these products can give even one parent a little more rest, a little more freedom, and a little more peace, then this will all have been worth it.
